  • Rather excited to report I'll be hosting my course on academic tools and workflow on Thinkific's platform. This course has been a long time in talking with other scholars and students who struggled as I have with what tools work best and how to stitch them into an efficient process.

  • As I discovered over the last 6 years (4 Masters program, 2 Ph.D., so far), there are no "best" tools, only those that are "best for you". Learning styles, operating system, preferences for analog vs. digital methods, accessibility considerations, these all matter when selecting tools to work with.

  • The number of tools are so vast, it's an entire course in finding, testing, and evaluating them. Then, to make them all work seamlessly with each other as we nudge data and text through the recursive process of academic writing, it's maddening to an experienced student like myself, let alone incoming scholars.

  • I love learning, especially when it makes complicated things make sense and save me time so I can spend more effort on new projects. To that end, I have invested in a fair share of online learning courses (much to my wallet's chagrin). I've searched far and wide for a course to solve this problem, to teach me how to streamline the search for and development of an academic workflow that just f*cking works.

  • After 6 years of searching, I can confidently say, no such course exists. So I'm building it. Interested in what this course may offer you? Drop me a line in email (shana.pote@gmail.com) or Twitter (@shanapote), and put "academic workflow course" somewhere in your message.
